Frequently asked questions

The clarity guests need before committing to a tornado chase adventure.

These answers combine the tone and substance of the original site with a more refined presentation, helping visitors feel both the excitement of the experience and the professionalism behind it.

Safety

Every chase day starts with a briefing on setup quality, route options, hazard context, and exit strategy.

Routing

Tours are kept intentionally small so every guest can hear guidance clearly and travel in a calmer environment.

Decision-making

Arrival-day orientation, waivers, and expectations are reviewed before the first field day begins.

01

Do I need storm chasing experience to join?

No. The tours are designed for first-time guests and longtime weather enthusiasts alike. Guides explain the forecast, route logic, storm structure, and field etiquette throughout the trip.

02

How is safety handled during the tour?

Safety is the first operational priority. Guides continuously evaluate storm motion, road options, traffic, visibility, and escape routes before deciding where to position the group.

03

What happens before the tour begins?

Guests attend an arrival-day orientation and safety meeting at the base hotel, review the liability waiver and tour agreement, and receive a clear overview of expectations for the days ahead.

04

How many people are on each tour?

The current operating model keeps tours to six guests, supported by one or two drivers depending on the chase plan and vehicle setup.

05

What lodging and meals should I expect?

Base lodging is typically near the airport in Oklahoma City or Denver, with hotels targeted at three-star quality or better during the tour. Breakfast is included when available, lunches are quick on-road stops, and dinners depend on the chase window.

06

What should I pack?

Guests are asked to pack light, ideally carry-on style luggage up to 50 pounds plus a small personal gear bag, so loading and room changes remain efficient during active chase days.

07

Is a tornado guaranteed?

No tornado or severe weather outcome can be guaranteed. The value of the experience comes from expert decision-making, deep weather education, premium guiding, and the pursuit of the highest-probability setups available.

08

What is the refund policy?

Deposits are generally nonrefundable, with limited exceptions tied to extraordinary circumstances or the ability to refill a vacated spot. Exact booking terms are reiterated during checkout and the pre-tour paperwork process.
